Craft Community: Flint Handmade’s Craft Swap

Twice a year you can always count on Flint Handmade’s craft swap for awesome finds of the craft kind. We all bring our unwanted crafting items to the Lunch Studio in downtown Flint.
This is what I donated to the swap.
Fabric, patterns, some jewelry findings… Paper stuff…

The volunteers take it, sort it and put it on tables,
then we shop!

Tiny found herself a kids costume jewelry set.
It is fancy. Like her.
I found a cool plastic bag filled
with vintage sewing notions.

And I didn’t even realize it until I got home and emptied out the bags. {yes, bags} I know I said I was only allowed to take as much as I brought but I had to carry Noelani’s stuff too {man!! that girl is her mama’s daughter Fo sho}… So yah.
I found this adorable pile of hand
appliquéd prairie girl quilt blocks.

I’m pretty sure the girl who this project was being made for really liked little house on the prairie. And made her family call her Laura, and called her dad Pa. Who insisted on braids, dresses, boots, and bonnets. So basically a girl just like Tiny Girl. So of course I have to make it for her.
I found a gorgeous tablecloth with poppies on it. I put away most of the stuff I got into vintage suitcases.

I love to use vintage luggage for craft supply storage. Ohhh… Next time we chat remind me to tell you about the time my oldest daughter brought a huge pair of craft scissors in her carry on luggage at the airport. Funny story…

Lovey!
